The
solar system is made up of the sun and everything that orbits around it,
including planets, moons, asteroids, comets and meteoroids. In the 17th
century about 300 years ago, scientists developed an understanding
of physics that led to the gradual acceptance of the idea that
Earth moves around the Sun and that the planets are governed by the same
physical laws that govern Earth. Some of the planets
have been known to people for as long as they have been watching the stars.
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can all be seen with the naked eye, so
it's impossible to say who was the first human to discover them, and when that
was. Uranus was discovered by William Hershel on March 13, 1781.
Vedic Explanation
Before
this everyone believed that Sun revolves around the Earth but in Vedas, about
12,000 years ago it was written that
Earth and other eight planets rotates around Sun. Our Earth completes one
rotation in about 365 days which gives cycle of changing seasons. Planet name’s
were written in chronological order which exactly confirmed with modern
discoveries. Days and night is caused by rotation of Earth in it’s own axis not
because Sun revolves around Earth and is
clearly mentioned in Holy books of Hinduism.
